My husband and I opened our business in 2012 and I learned to how to enter everything into Quickbooks to take on the role of bookkeeper. After many mistakes and hours spent correcting them, I was managing it well enough...until our business got busier and we added another child to our family.
By 2015 I was sacrificing sleep to try and stay up to date, and I dreaded our year-end and the hours of anxiety that accompanied it. I knew we needed to make a change but I resisted because I was sure that our business files wasn't organized well enough yet to hand over to someone else (and I might be a bit of a control freak). Our accountant suggested Derilee and we finally handed our file over to her in early 2016, a few months before our third child was born.
